Yes. Some notebook LCDs are compatible with other notebook LCDs. Notebook manufacturers (Dell, HP Compaq, IBM, Toshiba, Sony,...) often use more than one LCD in the same notebook model; not only those with different display part numbers, but also from different manufacturers. There are also many other variables with an LCD, such as e.g. brightness, energy supply, angle,..., which can vary within the same display size.
