Partnership: 3M and TDComponents collaborate on Vikuiti Display Enhancement Films
Aichach, March 1, 2006 – TDComponents is celebrating a very special first on the 3M booth (booth A27 in hall 1) at this year's CeBIT trade show. The Bavarian company is the first partner in Germany to meet all the requirements for applying 3M's Vikuiti films to notebook displays under cleanroom conditions.
The display on a notebook is like a window on the virtual world. To protect and optimize these windows on mobile computers, the Aichach-based display specialist is now using optical products sold under the Vikuiti brand to tailor its offerings specifically to the needs of laptop owners. Under professional cleanroom conditions, Vikuiti Display Enhancement Films from the U.S. American multi-technology group 3M are permanently affixed to the notebook display. These films significantly enhance the displays they adorn: A privacy filter uses a sophisticated system of "micro-louvers" to foil unwanted snoopers and make sure data is displayed "for your eyes only". A scratch-resistant DQC film protects the display surface. And an ARMP200 anti-glare film reduces glare and annoying reflections while making colors appear richer and brighter.
